1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Rate-a-Locum, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not register for, access, or use the platform.
2. Eligibility, account accuracy, and professional verification
You may only use the platform if you are a genuine healthcare professional, healthcare worker, verified branch representative, or other authorised user acting in a real professional context.
You confirm that all registration details are accurate, belong to a real pharmacy branch context, and are kept up to date.
Your approved account email is treated as a fixed branch identifier. If it is incorrect, you must contact support rather than attempting to bypass account controls.
You must not create accounts using false identities, misleading branch details, another person’s contact information, or multiple accounts to bypass feature limits, moderation controls, or payment requirements.
We may require phone verification, NHS email verification, registration numbers, or supporting documentation to confirm identity, professional standing, or branch affiliation.
3. Acceptable use, review standards, and anti-defamation obligations
You must submit honest, fact-based, and constructive reviews based on genuine professional interactions.
You must not impersonate any person, entity, organisation, or branch, and you must respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.
Defamatory, malicious, knowingly false, harassing, discriminatory, retaliatory, misleading, offensive, or unlawful content is strictly prohibited.
You are legally responsible for the content you submit. We may remove or moderate content, suspend access, and cooperate with lawful requests where required.
4. Protection of locums and reputation integrity
You agree not to publish allegations of criminal, unethical, or unsafe conduct unless you have a reasonable factual basis.
We reserve the right to hide, edit, investigate, or permanently remove content where legal risk, abuse, or defamation concerns are identified.
We may request supporting information for disputed reviews and may restrict publishing rights during investigation.
5. Branch tools, agreements, invoices, and Business Manager
Rate-a-Locum provides branch-facing tools for booking records, locum agreement generation, invoice and monthly statement workflows, tariff price movement visibility, medicine recall visibility, shortage reporting, reviews, and related branch administration.
You are responsible for checking booking details, rates, unpaid break minutes, locum contact details, agreement wording, invoice details, statement recipients, and any emails sent through or from the platform before relying on them or sending them.
Rate-a-Locum is not a locum agency, employer, payroll provider, legal adviser, clinical adviser, or debt collection service. Platform outputs are operational records and decision-support tools, not professional, legal, financial, or clinical advice.
Drug Tariff, recall, and shortage information may be imported from third-party or public sources. You must verify critical information against the authoritative source before making commercial, clinical, or governance decisions.
6. Platform rights, moderation, intellectual property, and enforcement
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that breach these terms, attempt to bypass controls, or abuse the service.
We may enforce technical controls including rate limits, verification checks, and anti-circumvention safeguards.
Attempting to tamper with links, API payloads, scripts, or browser behavior to bypass consent or access controls is prohibited.
All platform content, branding, logos, designs, software, and related materials are owned by Rate-a-Locum or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without express written permission, except where the law permits this without restriction.
7. Free and subscribed access
Free access is limited by product rules, including profile/review viewing limits and feature restrictions.
Full feature access requires an active paid subscription in good standing.
We may update plan entitlements, provided material changes are communicated in-product or by email.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an as-is and as-available basis.
We do not guarantee that the platform will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, complete, accurate, or suitable for your particular purpose.
User-submitted reviews, ratings, and other content reflect the views of their authors and are not guaranteed by Rate-a-Locum.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rate-a-Locum is not liable for loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, business interruption, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.
Our total aggregate liability for claims arising under or in connection with these terms will not exceed £500.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rate-a-Locum, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and partners from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the platform, unlawful content, or breach of these terms.
10. Privacy, evidence, and records
We may store verification and compliance records, including terms acceptance metadata, login and 2FA events, booking records, agreement issue records, email delivery logs, billing events, support requests, and moderation records, to evidence consent and protect platform integrity.
We may require phone verification and other security controls where needed to reduce fake registrations and abusive behavior.
Use of the platform is also subject to our privacy and security practices as provided in product communications.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or use of the platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, this includes services and prices. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
Where required, we may ask you to re-accept updated terms before continuing to use the service.
